謝佑卿，男，1937年12月出生，漢族，湖南邵陽人，大學文化，民盟盟員，2003年、2005年和2007年為中國科學院院士候選人，中南大學教授，國家重點學科、材料物理與化學專業博士生導師、首席教授，粉末冶金國家重點實驗室兼職教授，湖南大學材料科學與工程學院兼職教授，湖南省十屆人大常委會副主任，十屆全國人大常委會委員。美國科學促進協會（AAAS）會員，美國紐約科學院（NYAS)院士，湖南省歸國留學生聯誼會會長，享受政府特殊津琉。
